General
An important mechanism of gene regulation is based on so-called transcription factors. By binding to the promoter area of a gene in DNA, some specific transcription factors can regulate the activity of that gene. The seminar focuses on the algorithmic, machine learning and statistical methods that can be used in modeling such regulation as well as in applying the models to predict regulatory relations between genes.
