Description:
BENGT ASPVALL: "CS UNPLUGGED: EXAMPLES, EXPERIENCES AND REFLECTIONS"

During this interactive workshop, I will demonstrate several Computer Science Unplugged inspired activities. I will also report on my CS Unplugged experience with different audiences, in different contexts, and in several countries.

We regularly use CS Unplugged for, and with, young people on field trips, at schools and science centers. We have successfully used the CS Unplugged in conjunction with "laboratory mathematics" in schools; presentations for school teachers in Sweden and Norway and for teaching students at KTH and Linnaeus University. I will give an account of the free resources available and tell about my work over the past seven years with CS Unplugged's Tim Bell, University of Canterbury, New Zealand.

Hopefully there will also be reflections and discussions based on the participants' own experiences of outreach activites.
