Description: 

The aim of the training course is to give the attendees a basic understanding of Finnish working culture and tools to ease their working life in Finland. The course will also raise the attendees; awareness of relocating into another country and what kind of adjustment a successful relocation requires. The course will try to ensure that the attendees enjoy their stay in Finland and can make the most of it, work and otherwise.

Topics covered during the training:

- Finnish culture, an overview
- Finnish working culture, general features and curiosities 
- UH personnel at a glance (teacher, researcher, admin, student)
- Intercultural communication in the work place 
- Integration in and outside the work place
- Other relevant topics raised by attendee(s)/trainer

A one-day training course offering a general introduction to Finnish society and working culture, its features and curiosities. The course examines intercultural communication in the work place, different codes of conduct and possible problems areas. It also discusses integration in and outside the work place, giving practical tips on how to make the most of one`s experience in Finland. Practical examples will be given and the audience is encouraged to make questions.
