The Faculty of Science has established a new MSc programme in Data Science. The programme will start next autumn, with the aim of educating new generations of data science experts and professionals for various fields of science as well as for companies and administration.

The programme will be kicked off with an open event on Monday, 22 May. We cordially invite all staff members interested in data science to participate and join the discussion on data science and its education in the university.

The event will consist of very brief presentations of data science education and research activities in the auditorium, followed discussion over refreshments in the cafeteria area in front of the auditorium.

Registration: please register by 11 am, Fri 19 May, using the URL below so we can estimate the amount of refreshments needed.

Presentations: participants are welcome to give brief (3-5 min) presentations of their activities/plans/interests in data science, both education and research. Please send your name, descriptive presentation title, and max 2 slides in pdf format to pirjo.moen@helsinki.fi by Fri, 19 May.
