Success for University of Helsinki in ICPC World Finals

The University of Helsinki team Game of Nolife participated in the World Finals 2016 of the ICPC programming contest in Phuket, Thailand. The team consisted of computer science and mathematics students Otte Heinävaara, Olli Hirviniemi and Tuukka Korhonen. The team was coached by Mikko Sysikaski, a former contestant.

128 teams around the world were invited to the World Finals. Game of Nolife got their invitation last fall after winning the regional NWERC contest in Linköping, Sweden.

The final contest was a real challenge because all best teams around the world were present. Game of Nolife ranked 14th by solving 8 tasks out of 13 tasks which was an excellent result. This year the best team was St. Petersburg State University, followed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Harvard University.
