The aim of the evaluation was to explore how universities and universities of applied sciences define their task of affecting social impact, what kind of factors promoting or preventing the implementation of this task they perceive and the ways in which higher education institutions monitor the results of their social impact.
The aim was also to produce information on factors that promote cooperation between higher education institutions and between higher education institutions, workplaces and economic life in the regions, and the public sector, and on the quality and results of this cooperation. The evaluation team was to make recommendations on how the social and regional impact of higher education institutions can be strengthened and how the evaluation and monitoring of the results should be developed.
