For the alumni day on 17 March 2016, Russian morning coffee, open science lectures, Science Slam, the seminar “Who is good enough to be a Finn?”, University Museum tours, and 2 alumni for the price of one to enter the Observatory. In addition, the Alumni of the Year, Tuomari Nurmio, will give a lecture on Kalevala in the banquet hall of the university, and the evening will reach its peak when Dumari ja Spuget play for alumni and students at Le Bonk.

8.30-10.00 Morning coffee at the Science Corner on Aleksanterinkatu Professor in Russian energy policy Veli-Pekka Tynkkynen: “Venäjä, energia ja ilmastonmuutos" (Russia, energy, and climate change). Organised by Aleksanteri-instituutti (pre-registration required)
12.00-16.00 Two alumni for the price of one to enter the Observatory
13.00-17.00 Campus afternoon: Open doors and lectures at the faculties of veterinary medicine, biological and environmental sciences, pharmacy, and agriculture and forestry.
13.00-15.00 Tours of the university museum led by Professor Matti Klinge
15.00-16.00 Kumpulan Science Slam, hall 1, Main Building, (organised by the Faculty of Science)
At 15:00 ScienceSLAM by the Faculty of Science, Main Building, hall 1, Fabianinkatu 33
In the Kumpula ScienceSlam-type show, five top scientists will present the most interesting ideas and innovations in science and research today for the public to assess. The programme consists of 10-minute presentations combining science and research with charismatic, funny and inspiring acts. The concept airs out the dusty old perception of dry university lectures. The best 10-minute acts will be awarded, and the judge will be You.
