On April 20th to 21st Cloud-assisted Security Services (CloSer) Project and ProgrAmmable Network & Analytics (PraNA) project held a workshop event aiming to share their recent research developments and discuss future endeavours, bringing together both projects, related peer research projects and distinguished members of CloSer’s Scientific Advisory Board.
Both CloSer and PraNA are Tekes funded research projects with numerous academic and industrial partners. Besides University of Helsinki, other participants in CloSer are Aalto University, Arcada University of Applied Sciences, F-Secure, Nokia, SSH Communications Security and Trustonic. PraNA partners include University of Helsinki and Aalto University from academia and Ericsson, F-Secure and Datactica from the industry.
The workshop held in Exactum building at the Kumpula campus consisted of talks and presentations with topics ranging from Edge computing to innovation processes and even European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Poster and demo session highlights include a new efficient Private Membership Test Protocol and a system for securing heterogeneous IoT environments, both works presented by University of Helsinki Students.
The workshop garnered positive commendations and was attended by over fifty participants including researchers, industry representatives and students. Chosen research problems and presented solutions were praised as impactful and of high quality. The poster and demo sessions even caught attention from passers-by who were not participating in the workshop itself.
