Acquisitions: articles and services
Acquisitions
At the Department of Computer Science, acquisitions are made in accordance with the act on public acquisitions and the rules on competitive trade, as well as the acquisitions rule of the university.

IT acquisitions
Acquisiton of information technology and other hardware, as well as copying paper, is made by the manager of the information technology team.
Literature
Books and journals can be ordered by contacting the person in charge of literature acquisitions at the department, who delivers the orders to the Kumpula Science Library after approving them. There are guidelines on the department’s website.
Office supplies
The department secretary orders office supplies for the department. You may send requests for office supplies to toimisto@cs.helsinki.fi or write the information on the list on the table in the supplies room. The department secretary also orders the envelopes with the department’s return address on them.
In Exactum, the departments order the supplies for the lecture halls (draft paper, slides, markers, chalks, etc). The supplies are available in the supplies room or from the department secretary.
Travel
The department follows the regulations on travelling set by the university. Please see the website of the bursar’s office for more information. After a travel plan has been accepted, the person travelling (or the secretaries) will book the trip through the university’s Area travel agency in accordance with the regu7lations on travelling.
Furnishings
If you need additional furnishings, please contact tilat@cs.helsinki.fi. The department administration will order new furnishings from the technical department, which in turn will acquire them.
Copy cards
There are two invoice-based copiers at the department, for which you do not need a separate copy card. The department staff may also copy work-related documents with a copy card, which are available from the department office at toimisto@cs.helsinki.fi. The department administration orders the copy cards from the university press.
