Get your feet wet in Open Science!

Do you know the best data repository suitable for your needs?

Do you want to describe and share research data with other researchers and specialists?

Did you know that you can self-archive your papers and articles in the research database TUHAT?

If any of these questions are of interest to you, sign up for the Open Access Workshop on 20.10.2015. In the workshop you will discover the best practices in research data management, present your own research topic, gain hands-on experience in green open access and get helpful tips.

As open access has quickly become fundamental theme in science and scientific research, the University of Helsinki and FOSTER, an EU-funded project which aims to increase knowledge and practices supporting open access policies, are organizing a day of open science for any researcher interested.

The morning begins with talks and presentations by guest lecturers such as Lars Holm Nielsen, a software engineer at CERN who has been launching ZENODO, Ivo Grigorov from the Horizon 2020 –program, and Damien Lecarpentier and Stina Westman of CSC.  The afternoon is reserved for workshops on multiple topics concerning open access, open data, research data management as well as the participants’ presentations on their own research interests.

SIGN UP at https://wiki.helsinki.fi/display/OAviikko/Open+Science+Workshop+20.10.2015 for the Open Science Workshop and participate in the co-creation of Open Science! The workshop materials will be available for those unable to attend through the FOSTER website later on.

The workshop will be held on 20.10.2015 starting at 10 AM at the Minerva Plaza learning environment on the City Center Campus.
