registers access in kernel..

Hi

      I am new to Linux kernel. My requirement is to
access all registers values in a linux kernel level
module . Is there any saperate interface to 
   access contents of all registers, or I should 
   use tedious process of "__asm__" macro to access
   all registers. Kindly give me some details and
   any pointers.
