Patch 2.4.9-pre4 kills mouse & keyboard

The following are my efforts to report a problem with
'Patch2.4.9-pre4' created by Kurt Garloff (K.Garloff@ping.de)
the email to him bounced, his was address obtained from DejaNews
postings. He is not in the 'MAINTAINERS' list.

The problem was also posted on thefollowing news groups.
