OK, here's something that might be worth testing. It isn't a final
version and it most likely needs tuning, but...

Anyway, it builds, boots and seems to be working. The worst it
can do is to make bad choices for directory allocation ;-)

Comparing this beast (and its variants with different parameters) with
standard allocator would be interesting.
