CC me directly if you need more info or have a suggestion.

I have a x86-compat 933Mhz VIA Ezra CPU on a FIC mini-itx board. The
system has 256Mb of RAM and a 40Gb ide hdd. I'm running a fully
up-to-date copy of RedHat 7.3 with kernel 2.4.18-3. Off and on I'm
having the system freeze when I su and change to a certain directory.
The filesystem is ext3 and the directory has about half a dozen
subdirectories each of which have several gigs of files. I've had the
system for about a month running 24/7 and have only had this happen
about four times. After one of these freezes I noticed an oops in my
logs and and saved it. I've been trying to get more copies but that was
the only time there was an indication of an oops in the log.

Output of ksymoops on the logged oops is attached. If I didn't do it
right please let me know. Thanks.

ksymoops 2.4.4 on i686 2.4.18-3. Options used
-V (default)
-k /proc/ksyms (default)
-l /proc/modules (default)
-o /lib/modules/2.4.18-3/ (default)
-m /boot/System.map-2.4.18-3 (default)

Warning: You did not tell me where to find symbol information. I will
assume that the log matches the kernel and modules that are running
right now and I'll use the default options above for symbol resolution.
If the current kernel and/or modules do not match the log, you can get
more accurate output by telling me the kernel version and where to find
map, modules, ksyms etc. ksymoops -h explains the options.

Error (expand_objects): cannot stat(/lib/ext3.o) for ext3
Error (expand_objects): cannot stat(/lib/jbd.o) for jbd
Error (pclose_local): find_objects pclose failed 0x100
Warning (compare_maps): mismatch on symbol partition_name , ksyms_base says c01b5a40, System.map says c0155ec0. Ignoring ksyms_base entry
Warning (map_ksym_to_module): cannot match loaded module ext3 to a unique module object. Trace may not be reliable.
