ide-scsi sometimes gets into a strange state.
[2.] Full description of the problem/report:
Every so often my system becomes very sluggish due to what appears to be excessive logging.
It usually occurs when I've stopped working for the day and the computer is "idle".
A snippet from /var/log/messages (and then the ATAPI reset and messages repeat until I reboot):
