kernel 2.5 XFS over software linear RAID problem

Hello all,
First of all - please reply to my personal address, I'm not subscribed to LKML. :(
I have a custom-made system, AMD duron/900Mhz, on a MSI VIA KT133A motherboard,
and I am performing software linear RAID on 8 IDE disks, 4 of them connected on the
motherboard IDE ports and the rest to an Adaptec 1200A raid controller (basically
a renamed and unmotivated more expensive Highpoint 370 RAID controller).
I am NOT using the RAID facility of the PCI controller (as it sucks big time), it is
used just as a trivial IDE controller.
I have chosen XFS as the filesystem, and it seems to work just fine with 2.4.20+XFS patches.
I'd like to switch to 2.5 kernel but I get a nasty oops when I'm trying to mount the partition.
I got the same problem when trying to do it over two U160 SCSI disks mounted in an
Adaptec 7892P SCSI controller in an IBM x330 series server. Any idea would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
