I had a similar experience this morning with 2.1.70, the kind of lock
that hasn't happened to me since about 30 revisions back. No keystroke
produced any sign of life. However, the magic key did work to
reboot. My system is a P166, not SMP; but the heavy disk use did seem
to be the trigger here as well.
