I'm having some similar, but not identical problems with cdrecord.
My kernel is 2.3.99-pre3, the CDROM drive is Yahama CDR102,
and the SCSI controller is NCR53c810.
I have burned CD's a couple of times with no problems. In both cases,
they were CDs with less than 600MB of data.
When I have had problems, it's always in the "fixating" stage. In
some cases, the system just hangs, and even <alt><SysRq> won't
do anything. In other cases, I get a kernel panic.
When a kernel panic occurs, is there any way I can save the
debugging information that appears on the screen to a file?
