Some cards I've purchased recently came with driver source, admittedly it
assumed a 2.2 kernel version but it came with a makefile to build it
for you and a README file. What's the problem? If a user can't read a
README file they won't get half the hardware installed under Windows either.
If they're running unstable kernels then they're assumed to be able to patch
it up or if they have a future stable kernel will hopefully be integrated
into the mainstream kernel by then.
