Some will do. Some will not. WD ones can do this with special utility.
DOS-based, of course. That is: NON-transparently. New IBM ones will do this
by itself (transparently). Some not-so-new can not do it at all (I've seen all
three types of IDE disks myself).

I think SCSI looks like IDE here: some drives will do this, some will not.
