2.2.17pre6 on UP2000 with SRM console

On an Alpha UP2000 SMP system with the SRM console,
I get the following strange error on boot

In the past, 2.2.16pre2 gave me strange header error on boot.
Now, what is the above?  I really don't know what to do.
