Udma(33) on Ali 1533

Greetings!  We've recently purchased two similar machines, both with
Ali 1533 ide controllers (capable of udma(33)).  One has a 6G Udma(66)
capable drive, the other a 20G Udma(66) capable drive.  I'm running
the marvelous ide patch against 2.2.16.  The former negotiates to Udma
mode 2, the latter only to dma mode 2.  Why is this?  Bios settings
are the same, unless I've made a mistake.  Both machines have drives on
ide1 as well, but of different capabilities.  Could this be the cause?
