2.4.0-test2 and IDE drive problems

I'm running 2.4.0-test2 on a celeron which was earlier running
2.0.36 without problems. I've upgraded all necessary packages
to the recommended versions in Documentation/Changes, except
modutils (will do that) but I'm not using any modules.

After a day or so of uptime, I'm seeing messages like this:
hdb: status error: status=0x58 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest }
hdb: drive not ready for command
hdb: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
hdb: no DRQ after issuing WRITE
ide0: reset: success
(hdb is the main hard disk)
Earlier, I found the machine hanging with a message on the screen
hdb: could not get interrupt (or something like that, didn't get
saved in /var/log/messages perhaps because the disk was inaccessible)
Had to reboot.

Any ideas? Haven't seen any other problems with this kernel yet.

Rahul.
