Hi,
Ok, I tested this patch, applied to kernel 2.4.0-test3-pre1, with my
TNT2 Ultra card, and the patch definitely fixes some problems. The 'dark
console' bug seems to be fixed, and the modes the rivafb 0.71 used to cause
my monitor to go out of range by setting the vertical frequency to less than
50Hz, now work correctly. I'm still seeing the following problems though:
- 16bpp seems to be still be all screwed up, as it comes up with pale green
text on black background, instead of white on black. Also, running fbtv
or fbi results in the image appearing with a green tinge to it.
- if I run a fb app (fbi or fbtv), when the app exits I have to issue a
'/usr/bin/reset' to be able to see text on the console, as all I see is
the flashing cursor, and no text.
- scrolling still seems very slow. The scrolling speed is the same whether
I pass the noaccel option to the rivafb or not. I'm not sure if the patch
was actually supposed to fix this or not, so it is not most important problem.
