Sparc-32 SMP Reliability

I just wanted to provide some feedback with regards to Linux on Sparc-32
SMP platforms. I continue to run 2.2.16 on our main web server, an SS-10 with
quad Hypersparc CPU's. It is running Apache 1.3.3p3.

This machine has been unstable since 2.2.0, and it continues to crash at
times; however, under 2.2.16 it lasts on average I would say 2-3x as long
between crashes as 2.2.15 and previous 2.2.x releases did.

I don't know what happened between 2.2.15 and 2.2.16 that would affect
Sparc-32 SMP platforms but whatever it was, definitely a step in the right
direction.

This has also been more stable on single CPU machines running Apache.
Machines doing other things seem to not have these stability problems.
