Problems upgrading kernel

I think I hosed lilo. I was trying to install 2.2.16.
I kept a backup copy of 2.2.14 in case I screwed up.
I copied a lilo.conf from another machine and I think
the other machine must have been booting off a
different partition than the one I was upgrading. (I
know I'm smacking myself in the head for not double
checking the lilo.con that I copied)

So now when I try to boot to either kernel I get a
kernel panic that says it can't boot the root fs. Can
anyone help? All I need to do is modify
/etc/lilo.conf but I can't boot up to do that. Any
suggestions???

Thanks!

Susan
