Some (or all??) Compaq m/cs has a part of their setup stored in a special
partition of the hard disk. Have you taken it into account while
installing lilo?
For my Compaq deskpro m/c with adaptac SCSI HD's, what I did is to install
the compaq setup in the partition that it took automatically (1st
partition of first HD), then installed MS DOS system files in that (sys
c:) so that that partition itself becomes bootable. Then I installed LILO
& added a label for that partition. It works fine now.
