Linux/alpha 2.2.16 vs. netscape

I'm having trouble with netscape under 2.2.16 on Linux alpha. This works
fine under 2.2.14. What I have is the Tru64-compat RPMS and the netscape
RPMS from the RedHat 6.2 distribution.

Tru64-compat-1.0-3
netscape-common-4.73-1
netscape-communicator-4.73-1
netscape-navigator-4.73-1

I have binfmt_aout compiled as a module, and java turned off. The problem
is that the netscape process will spontaneously die. Sometimes it dies before
it even puts up a window, sometimes it runs for a while, then dies. I see
nothing unusual in the logs (or dmesg) when it dies, so I'm not even
certain it's a kernel problem. I think it is because I don't seem to have
the trouble when I run a 2.2.14 kernel, but maybe I'm lucky.

Anyhow, is anything happening with the 2.2 series that might be affecting this?
