Under the new kernels linux-2.4.0-test1 and
linux-2.4.0-test2,
I cannot mount my vfat floppy diskettes. It said,

mount: block device /dev/fd0 is write-protected,
mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on
/dev/fd0,
or too many mounted file systems

Note that my floppy was actually not write-protected.
It contains long
filenames, some of which are of Chinese
characters(double-byte). It seems
that all vfat floppies cannot be mounted. But, if I do
a 'mdir a:'
before doing any 'mount', then the floppies will be
mounted successfully.

Another problem: These two kernels cannot do kppp
dialup networking.
It said,

Timeout expired while waiting for the PPP interface to
come up!

Note that my '.config' file has no problems.
