:-( Sorry, I misread that. But, as You see, I still hope for relief!
There are similarities in the hardware, so it <EMPH>may</EMPH> be
related.

Two parports, the VIA southbridge and the PS/2 mouse could be a bad
combination. I'll try to get a serial mouse for a test.
