problem description:
First of all, my cdrom is IDE, but I have the SCSI emulation enabled, so
it's in /dev/sr0 and usually works perfectly.
I've seen that in version 2.2.16, some of the file names of joliet
format are not correct. For example, a file name which in 2.2.15 had the
character "'", now in 2.2.16 has "?".
I've had some other problems about mounting some cdroms, but usually it
works ok, so it's quite possible this not being a kernel bug.
On the other hand, it's fantastic not seeing the message "sr0: CDROM not
ready. Make sure there is a disc in the drive." :-)
