OK, when I try that, I get

neon:~$ sudo modprobe yenta
Segmentation fault
neon:~$ sudo modprobe pci_socket
Segmentation fault
Clearly there is something else I'm doing wrong here.
Background:
Neon is a Toshiba Satellite Pro 445CDX.
