Financial support for finishing your thesis
The department may be able to provide financial support for up to 6 months for finishing your thesis. This support may be granted in exceptional cases:
- It is provided only for the writing of the thesis, not for (additional) research and,
- it is clear that the thesis will be finished within the time period of the grant.
The support will hopefully give the PhD student peace and quiet to finish the thesis.
The support is provided based on an application to the PhD studies committee. The application should include a research plan spanning the time period for which the support is applied and clearly describing how the thesis is finished.. The application should be prepared together with the supervisor. It should include
- a statement that all necessary courses and seminars have been passed
- a detailed and final list of the publications that will be included in the thesis (if the thesis consists of a number of separate articles). A small part of these can still be unpublished,
- the structure/table of contents of the thesis, and
- a coarse time schedule for the period.
