Ella Emilia Peltonen

My new website is up!

I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics in Cork, Ireland. My research interests include ubiquitous computing, large-scale data analysis and applied machine learning, everyday sensing, and mobile and wearable devices in general.

I finished my PhD in the Nodes group, University of Helsinki, working in the Carat project of collaborative energy diagnostics for mobile devices. My PhD focused on distributed machine learning and data mining for sensing applications.

My PhD thesis "Crowdsensed Mobile Data Analytics" will be publicly examined 26th February 2018 at noon, Porthania PIII in the city campus. Facebook-event, link (pdf) to my thesis.

I have been nominated to the list of 10 Rising Stars in Networking and Communications by N2 Women 2017.

The Finnish Union of University Researchers and Teachers chose me to their list of 50 Finnish researchers (in Finnish).

My full CV is available here (pdf).
