Ohjelmistotuotantoprojektiryhmä Oops

Kaapo is a generic diagram drawing software developed at University of Helsinki. It's developed by Oops project group as a Software Engineering Project in summer 2005. Kaapo is released under GNU Lesser General Public License.

Because of the extent of project topic, Kaapo aims to be the first evolution version which will be continued by other project groups later. We don't recommend it for end users before all required functionality has been implemented and the usability tests are carried out.

The name Kaapo is an acronym of the Finnish words 'Kaavioiden piirto-ohjelma' meaning 'Diagram Drawing Software'.

In future Kaapo should be able

  • to determine if the syntax of a diagram is correct. A Syntax-correct diagram is one that follows the rules of a diagram (what can connect to what, what elements can a diagram contain etc.).
  • link diagrams. For example an arcitechtual diagram can contain links from components to the class diagram of the components and so on.
Kaapo uses a Graphics2D to EPS converting tool developed by Jibble which is available under GPL.

Kaapo on Helsingin yliopiston tietojenkäsittelytieteen laitoksella toteutettava ohjelmistotuotantoprojekti. Kaapo, eli "Kaavioiden piirto-ohjelma" on geneerinen, käyttäjän tarpeisiin mukautuva piirtotyökalu joka kykenee tarkistamaan kaavioiden syktaksin oikeellisuuden ja johon on mahdollista lisätä tuki uusille kaavioille.
