Support for international and national activities
Annually, there are travel stipends available for Hecse students, for both research visits to other research groups and for trips to conferences, workshops and summer schools. Hecse students (both funded and adjunct positions) may apply for the stipends.
Application procedure
Please fill in your application on this web form. Please remind your supervisor (and instructor, if you have one) to send a recommendation of your trip to hecse-admin@cs.helsinki.fi. There is no specific deadline this year.
Note that the daily allowance should always be included in the budget. If the Hecse stipend does not cover the entire costs of the trip, other funding must also be provided (e.g., by the department, or by some available external funding).
Grants
The steering group of Hecse decides on the grants. The decision may be based on:- How many stipends the student has received during the current year (typically, a student is only granted one stipend per year)
- The funds available for the current call for applications
- Student should have a contribution (paper, poster) in the event for which he/she applies for a stipend and he/she should present the paper/poster himself/herself
- Preference will be given to applications where student's contribution will be part of his/her doctoral thesis
Transfer of grants
If a student has received a grant but is not able to use it (the trip is cancelled, or the fees are waived, etc.), the grant may be transferred to support another trip. Please contact hecse-admin@cs.helsinki.fi, give an explanation, and all relevant details for the new trip (using the web form above).
