Open position: Postdoctoral Researcher

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER


The future potential for the Internet of Things is enormous. A large number of innovative services and applications are enabled by the interconnection of billion of devices. The Internet of Things (IoT) research program (http://www.internetofthings.fi/) is a large-scale national research project. The program addresses the key challenges in creating IoT devices and ecosystems. University of Helsinki is the academic coordinator of the program that is led by Ericsson and that consists of 27 organizations.

The open position pertains to post doctoral research and project management in the IoT program in the area of networking and data communications.

The applicant should have a PhD degree in the area of distributed systems, networking, or wireless communications with focus on systems research and software. The applicant should have a track record of high quality scientific publications.

According to the Government Decree on Universities, post-doctoral researchers are required to be proficient in Finnish. Foreign citizens, non-native Finnish citizens or citizens who have not been educated in Finnish or Swedish may be exempted from this requirement without a separate application.

The salary will be based on level 5 of the demands level chart for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance. The length of the contract is negotiable (between 24 and 36 months).
