The Chancellor´s Travel Grant 2011

Researchers and teachers at the University of Helsinki may apply for the
Chancellor’s travel grant to cover the costs of foreign travel for
academic purposes. The grants are particularly intended for researchers on
the first and second stage of the four-stage research-career model
(doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers) for conference travels
abroad. A prerequisite for a grant is that the applicant will give a talk,
have a poster or other scientific presentation at the conference.
The grant can be applied for to cover travel and accommodation expenses and
participation fees. In addition, it is also possible to include either a
per diem allowance (for direct employees of the University) or
reimbursement up to the amount of the per diem allowance (for example for
employees on grant funding) in the applied grant.
The grant may be applied for for one trip abroad only. If there are no
special grounds (such as cancellation of the conference), the grant has to
be used during the year 2011 for the trip for which it has been applied.
The grant cannot be applied for a trip that has already been completed. The
travels should follow the general travelling instructions of the University
of Helsinki.
