Multitouch display as new kind of microscope
The multitouch microscope combines two Finnish innovations to give teaching and research new dimensions. The researchers of the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) and MultiTouch, a Finish company that manufactures multitouch displays, have collaborated to develop a wholly new method for microscopy: by touching a display the size of a desk or even a wall you can navigate and zoom in and out in the same way as with a traditional microscope.
MultiTouch is a company founded by Professor Giulio Jacucci to commercialise the results of his research.
