The award by the Finnish Information Processing Association for the best Doctoral thesis of the year 2010 has been awarded to Wilhelmiina Hämäläinen for her thesis "Efficient search for statistically significant dependency rules in binary data".

The award by the Finnish Society for Computer Science for the best Master's thesis of the academic year 2009-2010 has been awarded to Jouni Tuominen for his thesis "Helppokytkentäiset ontologiapalvelut semanttisessa webissä" ("Easily pluggable ontology services in semantic web").
