There is still time to affect the future direction of the university!

Preparation of the university strategy for 2013–2016 continues. During the autumn, there is still time to participate in the debate, for example in the “Reaching the top and out to society” blog. A draft of the strategy has also been published for comments.

During the spring, the future of the university in 2013–2016 was mapped out with two extensive online surveys. They highlighted four strategic goals for the university: to be among the fifty best universities in the world, to bear responsibility as a social opinion-leader, to be an inspiring and international workplace and to build its finances on a sustainable foundation. Moreover, the measures needed to reach these goals have been charted.

The latest version of the strategy has now been published in Alma for everyone to mull over (see links below - unfortunately the draft is currently only available in Finnish). On the basis of the draft, one can ponder, for example, whether the measures are correctly directed or how they might affect one’s own unit or work.

Discussion on the strategy can be continued on the “Reaching the top and out to society” blog that is returning from the summer holidays. Comments can also be sent directly to Jussi Karvinen (jussi.karvinen@helsinki.fi) and Janne Sariola (janne.sariola@helsinki.fi).
