At the Software Systems Engineering Chair of the University of Helsinki
(Jürgen Münch) we have several open positions with a projected start date of fall 2011.
We are looking for:
1 Postdoctoral Researcher or University Researcher2 Doctoral Students3 Research AssistantsThe candidates are expected to participate in research on software systems
engineering. One particular focus of the work will be the creation of a
cloud software development laboratory that enables the systematic evaluation
of existing and new cloud-related software development technologies and
processes including the fact-based improvement of such technologies based on
empirical findings.
We are looking for applicants in all areas of Software Systems Engineering,
with a special focus on experience in
- Cloud-based software development,
- Software quality modeling and measurement,
- Empirical software engineering,
- Scaling of high-performance teams
The Software Systems Engineering Chair currently conducts research in the
areas of
- Measurement and quantitative analysis of software processes and systems,
- Global software development,
- Descriptive software process modeling and analysis
We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic researchers with an interest
in both theory and practice. Knowledge of software engineering, empirics,
and/or cloud computing as well as implementation skills are a plus.
The Doctoral Students employed will be given the opportunity to carry out a
PhD in Computer Science at the University of Helsinki on a topic related to
the field. The organizational setup of the Chair guarantees excellent
supervision by the group leader. The salary will be commensurate with
qualifications based on the university salary system.
The contract offered for Postdoctoral Researchers, University Researchers, and
Doctoral Students will be initially for 12 month, and for Research Assistants for three
month with extension pending on the availability of funding at that time.
