Master's Degree Programme in Bioinformatics (MBI)

Master's Degree Programme in Bioinformatics MBI is a two-year MSc programme offered jointly by the University of Helsinki and Aalto University School of Science and Technology.

MBI programme offers a unique combination of bioinformatics, methodological sciences, biosciences and medicine. MBI graduates are employed in diverse positions in research, education and consultancy, in the industry, universities and research institutes. The teaching language of the programme is English. Bioinformatiikan maisteriohjelma (MBI)

Bioinformatiikan maisteriohjelma MBI on Helsingin yliopiston ja Aalto-yliopistoon kuuluvan Teknillisen korkeakoulun yhteinen kaksivuotinen maisterin tutkintoon johtava ohjelma.

Bioinformatiikan maisteriohjelma tarjoaa ainutlaatuisen yhdistelmän bioinformatiikkaa, menetelmätieteitä sekä bio- ja lääketieteitä. MBI-ohjelmasta valmistuvat sijoittuvat monipuolisiin tutkimus-, koulutus- ja asiantuntijatehtäviin teollisuuteen, yliopistoihin ja tutkimuslaitoksiin. Opetuskieli maisteriohjelmassa on englanti. 09 November 2009 MBI-graduate Hitomi Hasegawa presented a paper titled Evaluation of Novel Protein Comparison Algorithms based on Objective Function Rankings, Hasegawa and Holm at IEEE/EMBS BioMedical Engineering and Informatics BMEI,09, Tianjin China, Oct. 17-19, 2009.
12 October 2009 Applications are invited for admission to Autumn 2010 MBI programme.
12 August 2009 Orientation and Welcome events for new MBI students are announced. The events will be held on Friday, 4th September starting from 10:00 AM at Kumpula Campus. Rooms B123 (Morning session) and B222(Afternoon session).

24 April 2009 The main annual event of the Finnish Society for Bioinformatics, Bioinformatics Day, takes place in Turku on 13 May 2009.
17 April 2009 31 new students were admitted to the University of Helsinki to begin their studies in autumn 2009. Congratulations to all new students! Results for Helsinki University of Technology will be announced 24 April 27 April.
