Three Concepts: Probability, The Projects

The course does not have regular weekly assignments, but be warned: this does not mean that there is no work involved! In addition to participating to the classes, the students are expected to finish 5 projects. The projects are compulsory: failing even a single project means failing the whole course. However, the projects do not influence the grades uniformly: the "grade weight" given below indicates the relative importance of that particular project when deciding the final grade.

The amount of work required depends very much on the background of the students. With no previous knowledge of probability theory and little experience in programming the load can be heavy. However, please note that Projects II and III can be performed in groups (size of these groups depends on the number of participants).

The tasks

Project I: Home assignment
Grade weight: 5%

Project II: Probabilistic Eleusis [Teams and results]
Grade weight: 30%

Project III: The Legend of Golden Standard
Grade weight: 15%

Project IV: Poster
Grade weight: 30%

Project V: Term paper
Grade weight: 20%
