Spring semester 2010, periods III and IV. Thursdays (21/01-25/02 and 18/03-29/04) at 12-14 o'clock, lecture room C222 in Exactum. (No seminar on 1st April due to Easter break.)

Target audience

Master's and PhD students in statistics (incl. EuroBayes), computer science (specialization in algorithms & machine learning, intelligent systems, or bioinformatics), or applied mathematics (specialization e.g. in stochastics).

Previous knowledge of neuroscience is not necessary, although desirable.

Description

The seminar will be largely based on the new book Natural Image Statistics. There is no overlap with the neuroinformatics seminar in autumn 2008, so you can do this seminar every year.
