Changes to the walkway to the bus stops on Kustaa Vaasan tie

In future, there will be two walkways from the Kumpula hill down to the bus stops on Kustaa Vaasan tie.
The old, steeper path will have landscaped steps. The new and more level path will make a longer
curve into the woods.

The work on the walkway from the corner of Kumpula campus down to Kustaa Vaasan tie will start
on 12 September 2011. The work is estimated to take about three weeks.

For safety, walking through the worksite will be prohibited.
While the work is going on, the alternatives will be to walk along the road up Kustaa Vaasan tie and
Pietari Kalmin katu, or the path from the bus stop, up the metal stairs, and along the path through
the woods to the main entrance of Exactum.

The design:
The curve of the path will be extended in the middle, and the last bump by Kustaa Vaasan tie will
be levelled. In this way, the new walkway will be more level, so that it is easier to keep safe during
winter, as well. This means that the part without stairs will be longer.

The current walkway will remain as a second alternative. Some landscaped steps will be molded into it.
