The ChancellorĀ“s Travel Grant 2012

Chancellor´s Travel Grant 2012

Researchers and teachers at the University of Helsinki may apply for Chancellor’s travel grant to cover the costs of foreign travel for academic purposes. The grants are particularly intended for researchers on the first and second stage of the four-stage research-career model (doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers) for conference travels abroad. A prerequisite for a grant is that the applicant will give a talk, or have a poster or other scientific presentation at the conference.

The grant can be applied to cover travel and accommodation expenses and participation fees. In addition, it is also possible to include either a per diem allowance (for direct employees of the University) or reimbursement up to the amount of the per diem allowance (for example for employees on grant funding) in the applied grant.

The grant may be applied for one travel abroad only. If there are no special grounds (such as cancellation of the conference), the grant has to be used during the year 2012 for the trip for which it has been applied. The grant cannot be applied for a trip that has already been completed. The travels are made following the general travelling instructions of the University of Helsinki.

Applications are submitted online through an electronic application form. Applications do not include attachments. The application form can be found at:

https://kansleri.it.helsinki.fi/kanslerinmatkatuki/?lang=eng.

The application period begins on Monday February 13, 2012, at 12:00 noon, and ends on Friday March 9, 2012, at 3:45 p.m.

The electronic application form will open at the start of the application period on February 13, 2012, and close at the end of the application period on March 9, 2012. It is not possible to submit an application after the application period has closed, and late applications will not be processed.

Further information about applying for and use of the grant is available at University’s intranet Alma (alma.helsinki.fi > Support for teaching and research > Research services > Chancellor’s travel grant; or https://alma.helsinki.fi/doclink/116188).
