The agreement between the University of Helsinki and the Area Travel Agency will change from 1.10.2012. Service fees will be reduced by 25%. There are no major changes in the booking procedures. However, where flights are concerned, there will be two service fees depending on whether one or two options (according to price) are offered.

There will also be additions to the services provided by Area. It will be possible to book domestic train tickets (VR) using the Area Pro Online booking system. There will be no booking fee and the invoice for the train tickets will be sent straight from Area to the University. The booking system can be accessed via SAP (SAP/Travel Management/Travel booking/Area Pro Online). Later this autumn a mobile telephone booking service and other new services will be introduced. Information about these will be provided separately.

Area can also provide assistance with conference arrangements. Among other things, they set up web pages for conferences, receive registrations and payments and book venues and accommodation. The discount on train tickets provided by VR will change from 14% to 15% from the beginning of October 2012.
