Computational Systems Biology and Bioinformatics

The Computational Systems Biology and Bioinformatics group develops methods and tools for systems biology, in particular metabolic modelling. The methodological foundation of the group is formed by combinatorial algorithms and machine learning, especially  kernel methods. Applications of interest include metabolic flux estimation, metabolomic data analysis, metabolic network modelling and protein function prediction. From the beginning of 2012, the group is moving to Aalto university with a new name "Kernel Machines, Pattern Analysis and Computational Biology" reflecting the new focus of the group.
