The early-intervention model to be utilised at the University of Helsinki

In accordance with a Rector’s resolution, the early-intervention model will be implemented at the University of Helsinki from the 1 November 2011. The object of the model is to support employees, supervisors, and the work community.

This action model directs supervisors to take up the subject of changes in an employee’s performance and absence pattern. The model offers tools for cooperation with the occupational healthcare team. Its purpose is to support the capacity for work of employees by promoting coping at work, and making work run smoothly and feel meaningful. The model of early intervention is based on a constructive and confidential dialogue between supervisor and employee.
